Top 3 Destinations I’d Visit Again (2025 Edition)

One of the best parts about travelling is discovering new places, but some destinations are so incredible that they keep calling you back. As a solo traveller, I’ve had the privilege of exploring a variety of locations, each with its unique charm and appeal. While I love venturing into the unknown, there are some places that have left such a deep impression on me that I can’t help but dream about returning. Whether it’s the stunning landscapes, the rich history, or the unforgettable food, some places just have that magnetic pull that makes them worth a second (or third) visit.

In this blog, I’m sharing my top three destinations that I would visit again in a heartbeat. These are places that captured my heart, left me with incredible memories, and continue to call me back. Whether you’re planning your own travels or just dreaming about your next adventure, these destinations are worth considering for your next trip.

3. Thailand – Already Planning My Return

When I visited Thailand in September 2024, I only had time to explore Bangkok – I was only there for a week, but even just experiencing the capital was enough to convince me that I need to go back and explore more. Bangkok was an incredible introduction to Thai culture, from its vibrant street markets to its awe-inspiring temples, but next time, I want to see a different side of Thailand and for much longer. The Thai islands have been calling my name, and on my next trip, I plan to trade the bustling city streets for sandy beaches and turquoise waters.

The Bustling Energy of Bangkok

Bangkok is a city that never sleeps, a place where ancient traditions and modern skyscrapers coexist in perfect harmony. Exploring the Grand Palace and Wat Pho left me in awe of Thailand’s rich history, while a boat ride along the Chao Phraya River gave me a glimpse into the daily life of the city. And of course, no trip to Bangkok is complete without wandering through Chatuchak Market or indulging in the city’s legendary street food. But as much as I loved Bangkok, I know there’s so much more to Thailand waiting to be explored.

Dreaming of the Thai Islands

On my next visit, I want to experience the Thai islands. Koh Phi Phi, with its dramatic limestone cliffs and crystal-clear waters, looks like paradise. I’d love to go snorkelling in the Andaman Sea, relax on the pristine beaches of Koh Samui, and explore the vibrant nightlife of Phuket. There’s something magical about the idea of island-hopping in Thailand, discovering hidden coves, and soaking in the breathtaking scenery.

The Unforgettable Thai Cuisine

One thing that will definitely bring me back is the food. Thai cuisine is bursting with bold flavours, and I barely scratched the surface during my time in Bangkok. While I enjoyed some of the best pad Thai and green curry of my life, I can only imagine how incredible fresh seafood dishes taste on the islands. Mango sticky rice on the beach? Yes, please!

Thailand is a country that offers so much diversity, from its energetic cities to its serene islands. My first trip gave me just a small taste of what this country has to offer, and I can’t wait to return and explore its island paradise.

2. Switzerland – A Paradise for Mountain Lovers

If you love mountains, you’ll love Switzerland. The Swiss Alps are absolutely breathtaking, and no matter how many times you visit, they never lose their magic.

The Beauty of the Swiss Alps

Switzerland’s mountains are some of the most stunning in the world. I remember standing at the top of Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe, and being completely awestruck by the panoramic views. The air was crisp, the snow glistened under the sun, and the landscape stretched for miles in every direction. Another must-visit is the Matterhorn, which looks even more majestic in person than in photos.

Outdoor Adventures for Every Season

Whether it’s skiing in winter, hiking in summer, or just taking in the views from a scenic train ride, Switzerland offers endless natural beauty. One of my favourite experiences was hiking in Lauterbrunnen Valley, a place that looks like it was plucked straight out of a fairytale with its waterfalls, green meadows, and charming villages.

Swiss Cuisine and Culture

Switzerland isn’t just about nature; the culture and food are just as incredible. Swiss chocolate is in a league of its own, and I made sure to indulge in plenty of it. Fondue is another must-try dish – there’s nothing quite like dipping fresh bread into a pot of gooey melted cheese while overlooking a picturesque mountain view.

Switzerland is a place that feels like a dream. Every visit brings something new, and I can’t wait to return and experience even more of its breathtaking landscapes and outdoor adventures.

1. Italy – Forever in My Heart

Italy will always have a special place in my heart. I loved every single minute of my time in Rome – the food, the people and even the city itself. Walking through history at the Colosseum, throwing a coin into the Trevi Fountain, and indulging in the best pasta and gelato imaginable – it’s impossible not to fall in love with Rome.

Rome – A History Buff’s Paradise

If you’re a history buff, Rome is a dream come true. The Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and the Pantheon are just a few of the incredible landmarks that transport you back in time. Walking through the city feels like stepping into a living museum, with ancient ruins and Renaissance architecture around every corner.

I actually wrote an entire blog post about my whirlwind experience in Rome – How I Fell in Love with Rome in 72 Hours. If you’re planning a trip to the Eternal City, be sure to check it out for my full experience and recommendations!

The Unrivalled Italian Cuisine

Italian food is another reason I keep coming back. From the perfect slice of pizza in Rome to a plate of handmade pasta in a small family-run trattoria, every meal in Italy is an experience. I could eat my body weight in carbonara and still want more. And let’s not forget about gelato – there’s nothing like enjoying a scoop of pistachio gelato while strolling through the streets of Rome on a hot and sunny day.

Exploring Beyond Rome

Beyond Rome, there’s still so much of Italy I want to explore. The rolling hills of Tuscany, the canals of Venice, and the coastal beauty of the Amalfi Coast are all on my list. Italy is a country that offers an endless array of experiences, and each visit feels like uncovering another piece of its rich cultural tapestry.

Final Thoughts: Why These Places Keep Calling Me Back

Some places leave such an impact that they become part of you. These three destinations -Thailand, Switzerland, and Italy – have done just that for me. Each offers something unique, whether it’s the vibrant culture of Thailand, the breathtaking landscapes of Switzerland, or the timeless beauty of Italy.

Travelling is about more than just ticking places off a list; it’s about the experiences, the people you meet, and the moments that stay with you long after you’ve returned home. I know that no matter how many new destinations I explore, these three places will always have a special place in my heart.
